February 17

Today is transfer day, but since I am still in training I am staying with Elder C.  in Lakewood. So no moving for me. :)

This last week was ok. We got the Special Interview done for our investigator and turns out he didnt need it at all. But it is ok, because now we know for sure that he is ready for baptism. We just need to get him to pick a day and stick with it.

And we were at a members house last night and her husband is not a member and so now we are teaching him. And he leaves for new york (where he lives) in a month, so we are hoping within the next month we can baptize him too. And yesterday we met a lot of really nice people who speak spanish! so we now have a few more people to work with and hopefully we continue to find more. It really was a good day yesterday. :)

Other than that though not much going on. We are just trying to find people, and get those who are ready baptized. That really is getting stressful for us, that he won't pick a day....

But yeah. Good weather for us, and good people. Good stuff.

wow, it felt like a lot more happened but i guess not. hmmmm...
well.

as for the ipad rumors.... lol   <I told him I heard that they were getting ipads there in March>
apparently they were supposed to have ipads in december/january. did not happen. i have heard march too, but who knows. and even if we could it would be hard for me to want one. the mission president was talking with us two weeks ago about it and with the people we teach and the areas we visit it might not be a good idea to bring them around with us. but for church and stuff and the area books it would be so much easier. so it have good and bad to the idea. i dont know. also if we do get them the missionaries pay for them so if that comes up it will be around $400 it think....

love and miss you too and thanks again for the package.

February 9

We were on bike so that was so much fun. And it was raining most days. I think we had one sunny day. And that was after I prayed that the rain would stop just for a little while. So the sun came out and it turned into a mostly good afternoon. Then the next two days was much worse.

we went and did a service project cleaning trash off the streets in the City. (not the official town name) and since that is where our investigator lives we decided right afterwards to try his house again. And again not home. So we go back home and change and try to find something to do. So we spent the afternoon studying and praying a lot. then after lunch we went back to the city (without our bikes because we were expecting an interview to happen and afterwards we could get a ride home) and we did finally find him. We just had to wait in front of his apartment until he got home...

<insert some details about their investigator here>  And after that we realize that we are alone in the City without bikes and no way to get home without walking. So that night we walked home in the rain (it is about 4 miles from there to our place.) And that was so much fun... :/

And at church yesterday he never showed up again. So we go call him and he tells us he is in Seattle and wont be back until late, but at 7 we could stop by his place and get the interview done. Plus it was his sisters birthday and he invited us to the birthday party. So we get everything together and at 7 go to his house and get the zone leaders to have an interview. But then after a long time of waiting for that to end, we find out h the baptism is up in the air right now. It is not happening today and we are not sure when..

So lots of issues with one person, but I figure as long as he can get past his interview again and get to a baptism, he can be ok. Just needs lots of prayers. :)

And that is our life right now. Focusing on him  :)

other than that there were some other strange people we met this week. One person invited us in for food during our nightly tracting time. And that was not a fun experience. Let me just say, not a clean place and not a cooked steak among other things. But he was very adamant that we eat.

But all is well and we are not sick from that. And we have a car this week. And it is going to be a good week, just like every other week. There are a lot of good nice people we meet too, it just isnt as fun to tell those stories as much as the other ones. Mostly because they are english people and it is a small conversation. But we do get glimpses of goodness between the crazy people. :)

Other than that I dont think there is anything else to say. Thanks for the constant support and love.
love you too and miss you too,
i will let you know if i think of anything.

February 2, 2015

<note from mom.. this post will be shorter than usual as Tanner's email had a lot of personal stories and information this week that he didn't want shared on the blog. >

Ok, so yes. the seahawks lost. We found out last night during conference call and they told us that since they lost everyone should be very depressed and needing some happiness, so that is a great thing for us. lol
But glad trent is happy.

And this week is another bike week, and today is raining. So tonight should be fun. and I am hoping we dont have to lock up anywhere really sketchy, but that is the general area we stay in. It is really not what I am used to... but I should get used to it.

For the pigs feet. the flavor is not horrible, it is just the thought. and yesterday was fast sunday so we weren't expecting food, but the same family did bring us food after church and i didn't eat again. It was chicharron in salsa verde. which is pig skin in green salsa. and the pig skin was not like crispy pig skin, it was like slimy, not so cooked pig skin. So yeah, I stuck with eating some plain tortillas. Then luckily we had the surprise party later on so i got some food there.
Besides that this week was crazy. It was mostly good, but everyday was a new crazy person.

<mom again.. the rest are things I won't post.. stories he tells of different people he met last week and experiences he had. Please keep Tanner in your prayers as he is having a little bit of a struggle right now, but he knows he is where he needs to be and that Satan pushes hardest when good things are coming.. so he is waiting for the good! >
